The Paradox to a Mission in Commission

The paradox: Sales people who earn large commissions, are not doing what they do for money. What? you might say. That’s ridiculous! Ray how could you say such an idiotic statement like that!

Let me make my point…. They are in love with what they are doing, although they would probably not do it, if they were not earning money! Strange isn’t it? But, it’s true!

The professional residential real estate agent is aware that most people have a dream of owning their special home. The agent’s mission is to find these people and convince them they can have the home of their dreams. The professional agent will do everything in their power to help their clients. Ben Feldmand, one of the world’s greatest insurance salespeople. He was speaking to a group of insurance agents at a conference. When he had finished his speech, a young insurance agent asked the old pro a question. “Mr. Feldman, why do you keep selling insurance? You’ve been doing it for years. You’re a multimillionaire, you obviously don’t need the money?” Mr. Feldman’s answer said it all. He replied, “Don’t you think what we are doing is important?” The person selling cars, earning the large income, has actually fallen in love with cars. They get excited whenever the conversation leads to cars. Watch them. They are enthused and their enthusiasm is contagious.

Salespeople are on a mission! They are not working. They love what they do. If you met these salespeople on a social level, they would have you talking about their product or service. They are convinced their product is the best there is available.

Now ask yourself, Is there a mission in commission? I have coached executives, people in sales, multilevel marketing and have made a great amount of money on the internet and teach how to make money on the internet. I am a life coach and proud of it. I hope you find your mission it may be the obstacle that holds you back from the large commissions.

Illyr-albania:the Mother Earth

ILLYR-ALBANIA: THE MOTHER EARTH

“History is long, Art short, Occasion sudden.”  Anonymous

The following is ‘THE REVELATION’ as understood by a descendant of the Illyr-Albanian Heritage. God’s message finally revealed in His identity to the Western World as the result of the unwritten knowledge gained from an insight into the Illyr-Albanian pre-historic past based on the Illyr-Albanian Language which was and remains the Language of God and as the result of an intuitive spiritual awareness. This analysis is probably more accurate than any subsequent revelation. No one should minimize the value of the subsequent understandings. These are part of the ‘human spiritual evolution’ however misunderstood, misinterpreted or misguided by cultures not having the insight into the early Illyr-Albanian Language and World or misapplied what had been learned.

There is nothing mysterious about God and His message. The intuitive spiritual awareness is supplemented with reasoning, one of our many gifts. Perhaps we can now apply that gift and try to understand the human history that we have become so used to. The only great mystery about religion is ourselves and the ‘politics’ (human interpretations) in which we seem to insist on infusing into it without understanding the origins – the probable early thoughts of our ancestors.

The conclusion will be bound up in the concepts of the ‘goodness of the human spirit’ and the ‘goodness of conception’. You are the author of your life and the hope comes from renewal and/or continuation of the ‘goodness of the human spirit’. As the Son of Mother Earth, from Whose Virgin Womb He was born, God is not beyond our awareness and certainly not beyond an almost tangible quality of the gift the ‘goodness of the human spirit’.

The Illyr-Albanian Language, spoken by the oldest continuous civilization in the Western World, and maybe even the world, is the master key to understanding the early human spiritual evolution. It may enable us to distinguish between truth and human interpretation – the politics as well as business of religion that has evolved.

It is the purpose of this writing to record and hopefully enlighten with the documentation of this unwritten knowledge and establish a new source for understanding the concept of God, the real essence of His, ‘THE REVELATION’, not in the context of the history of a particular culture but its origin based on the creation by the earliest man that subsequently influenced most of the people of the world. The Illyr-Albanian World is the closest connection we have to the earliest man.

We are extremely fortunate that the Hebrews and Greeks left many writings and translations of religious books and histories and likewise fortunate that the Illyr-Albanian Language and characteristics of the Illyr-Albanian groups have survived and remained similar throughout the ages establishing a fair source as the result of continuity of both language and characteristics that stretch far back into the pre-historic era. From the writings –names and words – we, like archeologists, might attempt to piece together a story from ragments and place them in a more realistic context. From the Illyr-Albanian Language we might gain an insight and perspective that would otherwise be lost for all time with regard to the origin and then the evolution of concepts – names and words – that found their way into the Hebrew and Greek worlds.

We are now learning that what was thought to be the earliest civilization, Mesopotamia, (9000 years ago) had a contemporary in the Thracians of the Balkans (Mystery Gold of the Black Sea Warriors – 2004). To understand how Thrace relates to the Illyr-Albanians the following appeared in the 1911 Enc. Britannica.

“Thrace…There is no well-defined difference between aboriginal Thracians and Illyrians. Thus there was an Illyrian tribe, Brygi; a Thracian tribe, Bryges: and, in Strabo’s time, a tribe called Dardani (Kosova), then reckoned Illyrian, living next to the Thracian Bessi (in whose land was the oldest oracle of Dionysus), were probably as much Thracian as Illyrian.” (Bessa; an ancient concept among Illyr-Albanians that means ‘faith’, ‘religion’, ‘pledge of honor’, ‘loyalty’.)

Our knowledge of God comes from the written histories and Holy Books of the Hebrews who compiled much of these writings during an era of the Mesopotamian period. The Hebrews, referred to as the chosen people of God claimed to be enlightened because they supposedly understood the Language of God, Who had revealed Himself to them. It is important to understand that the Hebrews, like the Greeks and others possessed knowledge gained in the pre-historic era when there was a Language of God, Illyr-Albanian, whereby God’s Revelation was expressed through the perceptions of nature by the early people which evolved into a ‘folk religion’ as opposed to ‘book religion’ that we know today based on a particular cultural heritage. God’s Revelation had been expressed by the very fact of awareness on the part of the early people and the goodness of the human spirit that inspired it. There is a great wisdom in this unwritten knowledge of God because there is the connection between the early people and their perceptions of nature that initiated this awareness, a process that ignited mans’ spirituality.

It is a remarkable fact that God did not reveal His identity, His personal name to the Hebrews except to say ‘I am that I am’, ‘Yahweh’. This so-called revelation was probably due to a misunderstanding of the origin of the pronoun ‘I’, in the Illyr-Albanian Language, ‘Ou’, and the probable evolution of it as the substitute for the noun or name. It is not unlike the Greek ‘Ouranos’, the name of the first God, Heaven, which is really the Illyr-Albanian phrase ‘I fell’, ‘Ou Ra’. If you are a cave-person of thousands of years ago and you view the earth and sky, the sky appears to fall in the distance, in every direction you view – the same that we see today. If you follow the path of the sun from where the sky meets the earth you make a bridge overhead. In Illyr-Albanian ‘ura’ is ‘bridge’, ‘urate’ is ‘the blessed Father’. In my essay ‘The Language of God’ I stated that ‘It was my contention that this concept, the sky appearing to fall to the earth, may have been the most significant to the people of the pre-historic era when their religious ideas were evolving.” I believe that the origin of the name ‘Ur’, the home of Abraham, the Father of Monotheism, One God worship, derives from the concept ‘ura’, and this significance may not have been lost on the early Biblical writers.

I am explaining this because at the earliest times the Illyr-Albanian name for God, the pronoun ‘Ou’, probably evolved from the practice of re-enacting religious stories in the first person, and that the pronoun was used as a substitute for the noun or name in this re-enactment. By the time of the Hebrews and Greeks, and who knows when and how it channeled into their cultures, the pronoun became part of their ideas and with limited knowledge they structured their own understandings.

So it was not that God revealed Himself as ‘I am that I am’ to the Hebrews, nor that the Greeks named the first God, ‘Ouranos’. Their knowledge came from pre-historic channels, the evolution of which they did not fully comprehend nor appreciate. The Illyr-Albanians eventually lost this significance as well, but there are enough fragments to restructure the probability.

The pronoun ‘I’ was not an only example. James Churchward, in 1933, in his ‘Sacred Symbols of MU’ states that the Mother Earth religion was referred to as ‘MU’ as far back as 70,000 years ago. ‘Mu’ is the Illyr-Albanian pronoun ‘Me’. Another possible example of the pronoun is ‘He’, or ‘He is I’ based on the analysis of the name of the first son of the Greek God Ouranos. His name was Kronus and the possible etymology based on the Illyr-Albanian Language was ‘He is I’; ‘Kr Oun’, or ‘Kr esht Oun’. That is either God comes to earth as a mortal or that he sent his son. Hence the recognition of either the possibility of a messiah, or probability of the inevitable ‘next generation’. (‘Oh Albania, My Poor Albania’ – 1980 – pages 7, 18; by this writer).

When the members of family were passing away they were thought to become ‘godlike’ to the early people. In Illyr-Albanian a name for God was ‘Perendia’, the word for west ‘perendim’, the equation being that the sun passes away in the west. I believe that this is, as well, the real significance of the Western Wall (the wailing wall). There was a strong affinity for ancestoral reverence by the Hebrews. In many cultures when one dies there is an attempt to bury before the setting of the sun the next day. Few ideas in the world of religion in the pre-historic era were mutually exclusive though origins were not sometimes clear. However misunderstood, these ideas found their way into many cultures but there are enough clues (perceptions of nature and corresponding word and name development) to indicate that the origin was related to the Illyr-Albanian World – the Civilization that left no writings.

In order for the Hebrews to understand with at least a minimum of success the concept of God in their culture two spiritual tools evolved: the Zohar, which means ‘splendor’ in Hebrew, is a “commentary on the Bible structured as conversations among a group of friends, scholars, and spiritual masters… (a)lthough the wisdom available in its pages is older than Creation itself, the text of the Zohar was composed approximately 2000 years ago…”; and the Kaballah, ‘received tradition’, the ‘intuitive spiritual awareness’ and the enumeration of what the concept of God includes. I believe that these spiritual tools evolved because there was no clear understanding of the origin of God, whether it was realized or not, except as The Creator Who did not sufficiently identify Himself to them – He did not Reveal His personal name.

Did God chose the Illyr-Albanian groups rather than Israel to be the vehicle of Revelation – but no one listened, understood or recorded it? Perhaps the Illyr-Albanians were too involved as participants in their spiritual awareness, too secure in their understandings of it and it was too widespread among them – common knowledge – to find a need to record it, indeed if they had the ability to do so. The Illyr-Albanian influence was present and the fact that it had not been recorded does not mean that it wasn’t so. It is not sacrilegious to learn about it – indeed it is the most religious – spiritually –that one can do. Human history and the hope for the future is forcing a renewal in understanding ‘Revelation’ and religious truths based on origin and not the ‘politics’ of any particular culture.

Let us review the Illyr-Albanian history – a Civilization that left no writings, and the concept continuity in order to attempt to establish validity for source when trying to understand a pre-historic era despite the fact that scholars accept the history of religion or the birth of Western Civilization based mostly on ‘writings’.

I. Illyr-Albania: The Civilization that left no writings.

In his ‘Hymn of Liberation’ and an interesting example of ‘intuitive spiritual awareness’, one Vaso Pasha, in 1881, wrote:

“Oh Albania, My Poor Albania

Who (or what) has put your head in the ashes?

You were once a woman of great importance

The people of the Earth used to call the Mother!”

The fact that the Illyr-Albanian Civilization was one that left no writings would probably answer the question ‘Who (or what) has put your head in the ashes?’ By 1887 the Albanians established a western alphabet. That might be considered late for many to assess the Illyr-Albanian World a civilization at all let alone the oldest continual one in the Western World. What does constitute a civilization may be difficult to determine and some consider their own to be the standard. Be that as it may it should be no small factor that the Illyr-Albanian groups had the logistic ability before 300 B.C. to support Alexander the Great and his Illyrian troops in an attempt to conquer the known world. The thousands of years before that time may not have been recorded but the language, though unwritten, served as a fact of existence and subsequent tool that has lead to this and other analyses of the most profound importance. The language might also serve as a source since it unites us with the past and through the analysis of names and words we gain a perspective that can be had with no other language. The characteristics of the Illyr-Albanian groups that remained similar through the ages can serve as fact for ‘continuity’.

-From ‘Lands and Peoples’, Grolier Society (1929-49):

‘Albania And Its Mountaineers; The Land of the Eagle People’

“Probably less is known of Albania than of any other country in Europe, though Albania is the home of the oldest people of the Balkan Peninsula. In spite of many centuries under foreign rule, they have kept a national feeling and also a language and customs quite different from the people in the neighboring countries. They call their country Shqypnie, or Shqiperia, meaning the Land of the Eagles…So early was their beginning that history and even legend does not tell when they arrived…The Albanian language, which has survived so many centuries, has ever been a puzzle to philologists. Unlike the Greek or Slav of the neighboring countries, it is thought to have come from the primitive Illyrian, the language of Macedonia in the time of Alexander the Great. All attempts of the Serb, Greek and Turk have failed to destroy the Albanians’ love for it. Once, in southern Albania, where some of the people are Albanian Orthodox Christians, the priests taught that it was useless to pray in Albanian for God could not understand it. The Turks forbade giving instruction or printing books in the language…”

-From ‘Peaks of Shala’, by R. Lane (1923):

“Constantinople’s nothing. Everyone goes to Constantinople. But if you don’t see Albania, you’re wasting the chance of a lifetime. Up in those mountains-right up there in those mountains, a day’s journey from here – the people are living as they lived twenty centuries ago, before the Greeks or the Roman or the Slav was ever known. There are prehistoric cities up there, old legends, songs, customs that no one knows anything about. No strangers ever even seen them. Great Scot, woman! And you sit there and talk about Constantinople!”

“But if nobody goes, how can we do so?” I said.

“How does anyone ever do anything? Simply do it. Hire horses, get on them, and go.”

“Carrying our own guns?”

“Oh we’ll be safe enough! We may run into a blood feud or two, and get our guides shot

up, but nobody ever harms a woman. Nobody even shoots a man in her presence.”

-From ‘A Military History of the Western World’, by J. Fuller:

“But it was in his (Alexander the Great) outlook upon women – in nearly all ages considered the legitimate spoil of the soldier – that Alexander stood in a totally different moral world compared with the one inhabited by his contemporaries. Not only did he treat the captive wife and daughters of Darius with royal respect, but he held in abhorrence rape and violence, which in his day were the universal concomitants of war…”

In 1997 an archeological excavation took place in Albania near the town of Konispol in Southern Albania. At the cave site it was discovered that the cave was used as a birthing station for the shepherds’ flocks some ll,000 years ago. Today that same cave is used for the same purpose.

It may be that the fact that the Illyr-Albanian groups had no writings in some ways insulated them from deterioration or extinction because the culture had a very old and strong foundation and continuity and stability were not affected by the passage of time. This does not mean that there were no changes – things were gained and lost – but the basic, shall I say ‘primitive’ aspects of the cultural heritage were sustained.

In recorded times (recorded by others) we can guess that the Illyr-Albanian Civilization was a unique schooling for the young and ambitious and the results were repeated many times throughout history. It was more than just impressive achievements about how the Illyr-Albanians managed to take over their conquerors. Rather it was a confirmation of continuity, stability and endurance that this ‘schooling’ within the Illyr-Albanian Civilization must have provided. It allowed a unique perspective in the way the world was viewed by them.

When Ed. Gibbons wrote the classic the “Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire” he stated that Rome was saved by a ‘series of great princes who derived their obscure origin from the martial provinces of Illyria’. He conceded that the inevitable fall could not be prevented but that for a time the Empire was restored by the Illyrians.

In many writings about the Ottoman Empire the same word was used ‘Restorers’ about the Kuprili Family and other Albanians of obscure origin that restored that Empire. Some forty Albanians achieved Grand Vizer status – today’s equivalent might be Prime Minister.

In the modern era the Albanians played a key role in establishing nations around the Mediterranean world including Egypt, Italy, Greece, Romania and Turkey. In truth they had difficulty in establishing their own nation of Albania but that is a topic for another time. Neighbors and so-called scholars were not blameless.

An example of continuity by way of characteristics that stretches thousands of years is that of the Mati tribe of Albania. They served as spear throwers in Alexander’s army. They served the Roman legions in the same capacity. In the Middle Ages they served as mercenaries again in the same capacity in Europe. There could be many such studies about particular tribes from Albania and many were recorded by others – mostly pertaining to the military.

The biggest disadvantage of a Civilization that left no writings is the fact that scholars and others (who were too lazy to do research and too impressed with the ‘writings’ of other cultures) were able to confiscate the facts about the land and people of the Illyr-Albanian groups without correction or consequence. By the time of our era the Illyr-Albanian groups were divided into five or six countries in the Balkans.

There are many fragments of information however that one can read like the record in the League of Nations before 1920 where it states that the language in the Greek Navy was Albanian primarily because all the officers were of Albanian origin. There was a story about a document found during World War II that in 1827 the Greek parliament took a vote to change the national language of Greece to Albanian and it lost by 3 votes. It made little difference to most in the Western schools that the Illyr-Albanian story would ever be told. However Lord Byron, an English writer and poet was impressed to see that the Albanians were leading the Greek War of Independence in 1821. He died among them in Missolongi. The first President of Greece was an Albanian from the island of Hydra, Admiral Kondourioti.

The characteristics of the Albanians in Turkey and Italy have been recorded and to a great extent similar to those witnessed in Greece. The characteristic of Ataturk, Father of Modern Turkey, would provide an interesting study. Both parents of Ataturk were of Albanian origin. (Orga, Irfan, ‘Ataturk’, 1962)

Language and characteristics of the people of the Illyr-Albanian World can serve as a unique source as the result of their existence and the existence of the Illyr-Albanian Language and the continuity, stability and endurance of a very ancient people. It was here in this place, the Illyr-Albanian World of the Balkans, in this circumstance, a civilization that left no writings, that the Illyr-Albanian people and their stories evolved, Western Man evolved, Western Civilization was born, and then the stories were lost. We shall now proceed to take fragments from Hebrew and Greek writings and attempt to gain a new insight into some religious truths.

II. “In the Beginning God created The Heaven and The Earth”

“In the beginning God created the Heaven and the Earth.” That is the opening line of the Bible, Book of Genesis and one that would cause problems for the Hebrews in their attempts to make a starting point for the history of religion. A more accurate statement based on the probable early thoughts of our ancestors, the people of the ‘folk religion’ would be that ‘In the beginning there was the Earth that was known as ‘Mother Earth’ and from Her Virgin Womb came God’.

The story of Jesus as a Messiah and the Virgin Mother was an attempt to duplicate what had been understood for thousands of years before the time of Abraham and was part of the unwritten knowledge. Actually, the story of Jesus and Mary may have been the attempt by some Hebrews at the re-enactment of the earlier history of God being born of the Virgin Mother Earth and later that re-enactment became something more to the Gentile as well as some Hebrews and then spun out of control. I say that it spun out of control because the Gentile and even some Hebrews had not understood the origin and foundation of the religion from the thousands of years ago. What they were witnessing was the re-enactment of history and then they grasped it as substance and then built substance upon it. The Illyrian, Emperor of Rome (c.350 A.D.), Julian, nephew of Constantine the Great, suggested that the Christians added new things daily. The Hebrews, especially the women, had a strong spiritual affinity for Mother Earth at the time of Jesus so there were many who probably understood this re-enactment of history and as a result this strong reluctance by most Hebrews toward Jesus as the Messiah.

There can be no doubt that in order for what is referred to as Monotheism, worship of One God to take root and survive, an accounting of a Virgin Mother would eventually have to be made and if God was the Creator of Heaven and Earth, the story of a Virgin Birth would have to be replaced. Enter the ‘politics’ of religion to correct the problem and so it did perhaps using the New Testament as the vehicle. For the Hebrews and others that would follow in the belief of One God, the human ‘politics’ would have to impose ideas that would establish new ‘truths’ and ‘religious politics’ would require a replacement of a Virgin Mother albeit changing time tables.

The Greeks referred to the Virgin Mary as ‘Theotokos’, ‘the bearer of God’. The Illyr-Albanian ‘toke’ translates to land or territory, i.e. earth, and that is what the Virgin Mary was supposed to represent and duplicate in the re-enactment – the Virgin Mother Earth, ‘toke’ Who gave birth to the first God – an understanding thousands of years before the time of Christ.

III. The First God, The Second Coming

We are learning more and more that many things, because of the politics were placed in the form of codes by those in ancient times who had a higher level of understanding. Hebrew scholars, as well as others are constantly trying to decipher the codes whether they are in the Bible or other writings. This is in part because there is an understanding that there was unwritten knowledge and gaps and inconsistencies in information and a strong desire among the wise men of old to permit at least the chance for ‘truth’ to become known. We must appreciate that among the wise men there might also have been an attempt at double meanings in coding. One possibility as an example was the name of the birthplace of Jesus, Bethlehem. ‘Beth’ is the second letter in the Hebrew alphabet, maybe signifying that Jesus was the ‘second’ coming or that it was the re-enactment of the history of God, His birth, that became something more.

IV. The Name of God And The Goodness of Conception

‘THE REVELATION’ of the name of God is a very important and significant matter. There is no great mystery in understanding this essence. It confirms spiritual awareness and validates reverence for the ancestors. And if it is not too late, the reverence for the ‘future’ – not just our personal one, our salvation if you insist – but that which we pass on to our descendants. As a result ‘faith in the goodness of the human spirit’ should be appreciated as much as a part of our survival as ‘faith’ is a part of our personal spiritual beliefs based on the ‘politics’ of religion.

The name of God, His personal name, one that He did not share even with the so-called chosen people, IS the ‘Goodness of the Human Spirit’. Add to this ‘THE REVELATION’, the ‘Goodness of Conception’, albeit in the only instance of a Virgin Conception except for the Re-enactment that evolved into substance.

The identification of His personal name is based on the recognition on the part of our early ancestors, their spiritual awareness and their ‘goodness of human spirit’ that created the concept of God in their understandings.

-The Goodness of Conception

It would be wonderful if the Greek ‘Omphalos’ -the navel- ‘The Stone of Splendor’ and the Hebrew ‘Zohar’, ‘Splendor’ had the identical origin and based on ‘conception’ – the process of ‘fertilization’ and resulting ‘life’, but it is unlikely because who knows when and how the Greeks and Hebrews became enlightened and what they absorbed from the Illyr-Albanian World over countless centuries in the pre-historic era and who knows even if that meaning was lost to them. The advantage we have with this Illyr-Albanian story is the perspective as to the direction both the Greek and Hebrew took in the evolution of religion and away from the original thought of our early ancestors.

From the Illyr-Albanian unrecorded past we might review the early divisions of the Illyr-Albanian groups – Gheg to the north (‘veri’) ‘place of the egg’ (‘ve’ ‘ri’) of the Genusus River (ancient name meaning ‘earth as a bride’ ‘ge nuse’) in central Albania, and Tosk, Lab, and Cham to the south of the Genusus. Semeni River (ancient name) is in the Southern part of Albania. With the aid of Hesiod’s ‘Genesis of the Gods’, written B.C. and my analysis in book and essay forms, we might begin to appreciate the value in the names and words that apply to the old Illyr-Albanian divisions as well as other concepts in the Illyr-Albanian World. If I were to summarize the names I would say that ‘Also, in the beginning, there had been a great division (Cha), one part evolved (La) into the Mother (Ge), the other part evolved (La) into the Father (Tos). In this ‘THE REVELATION’ it is implicit that religious spirituality is a part of the ‘created life’ because our ancestors insisted on it through their spiritual awareness and what they passed on to us. They made spirituality of the ‘created life’ part of the Illyr-Albanian Heritage and even if this significance had been lost in the consciousness of the people of the ‘folk religion’ it would be recovered through our reasoning process, the fragments left in the writings by others, names and words, and an ‘intuitive spiritual awareness’.

V. The Universal Message

I have tried to understand the truth based on origin and balance it with the limits of human capacity. Understand that I am not unmindful of the spiritual energies one places and has placed on their personal beliefs. My attempts have been to enlighten on the most profound issues and not to offend. It may be that our era is forcing some kind of truth about ourselves, re-analyzing ‘Revelation’. It is not necessarily answers that we should look for but rather some kind of understanding about our world, our interpretations and our future. We might pay attention to those concepts which affect civilizations negatively: decadence, perversion, self-indulgence and superficiality. One may not wish to accept this writing as documentation but be skeptical about so much writing that is accepted. If interested time will allow reflection, study and perhaps a more conscious (as opposed to delusional) life experience. I am certain that unless we understand the human history, the role of ‘spiritual awareness’, reverence for the ‘created life’ as expressed in the very existence of the Illyr-Albanian World, and the spiritual birth of God, the future will not be kind to us. There must be reverence for our spiritual existence, an understanding of it and less of the ‘politics of religion’.

The question should never have been Whether you believe in God, but rather Does God believe in you – i.e., are you worthy or do you strive to be so? That is the essence of our human spirit.

Next, the question is Do your actions or will exemplify the ‘Goodness of the Human Spirit’ and not your ‘political’ preferences? That is the essence of God.

And finally, Does one appreciate and fully comprehend the concept of the ‘Goodness of Conception’? That is the essence of Mother Earth, both on the Divine level, the Family of God, and on the Human level, the Family of Man and Woman; and that which sustains us.

A Trend Toward Ligh While this planet Earth, slowly turns

From Day to Night, and continues its turn,

A kind of Mother to watch our plight,

What we do know is a TREND TOWARD LIGHT.

…and the flowers cling to the Earth

I have introduced to you a window into the Illyr-Albanian Civilization and World as I intuitively understood it to be and the probable early human spiritual evolution. It is also an introduction of new possibilities for analyses that might lead to a better understanding, a better ‘Us’, and a better world. Illyr-Albania, is the oldest continuous civilization in the Western World, a civilization until relatively recent that left no writings and one that still exists today – Continuity, Stability, Endurance and always a sense of Goodness among the people of the ‘folk religion’, even in the most horrific times. There is enough fair written material for one to search and to enlighten comprehension. I think that I have found the origin of the well-spring of much that evolved spiritually in our world and for a long time its significance remained part of the unwritten knowledge.

-From Homeric Hymn, ‘To Earth, Mother of All’ (800 B.C.)

“I will sing of well-founded Earth, Mother of All, eldest of all beings. She feeds all creatures in the world, all that go upon the goodly land, and all that are in the paths of the seas, and all that fly: all these are fed of her store. Through you, O Queen, men are blessed in their children and blessed in their harvests, and to you it belongs to give means of life to mortal men and to take it away. Happy is the man whom you delight to honour: He has all things abundantly: his fruitful land is laden with corn, his pastures are covered with cattle, and his house is filled with good things. Such men rule orderly in their cities of fair women: great riches and wealth follow them: their sons exult with ever-fresh delight, and their daughters in flower-laden bands play and skip merrily over the soft flowers of the field. Thus is it with those whom you honour O Holy Goddess, bountiful spirit.

“Hail Mother of the Gods, wife of starry Heaven; freely bestow upon me for this my song substance that cheers the heart! And now I will remember you and another song also.”

-Vaso Pasha’s “Oh Albania…” (1881)

“Oh Albania, My Poor Albania,

Who Has Put Your Head In The Ashes?

You Were Once A Woman Of Great Importance.

The People Of The Earth Used To Call Thee, Mother!”

-The Battlefield

Every battlefield has had an aftermath,

Every sadness…a song,

Every failure…some hope,

And every joy…a sadness,

…and the flowers came back to share some time on Earth.

Surviving A Tsunami – Tips To Prepare For A Tsunami Alert

Until December 2004, most of us thought of tsunamis as the makings of a good disaster movie, if we knew what “tsunami” meant at all. But with the awful devastation of 2004, we realized how much damage a tsunami can do.

What a Tsunami Is

Tsunamis are not large tropical storms caused by high winds. They are the result of undersea geological events like volcanoes, landslides, or earthquakes that occur with massive tectonic displacements. Earthquakes that reach 6.5 or above (Richter scale) can produce devastating waves that move at up to 300 miles per hour, reach heights of 100 feet, and last from several minutes to several hours from first wave to last surge.

In the open sea, the tsunami may not be noticeable, but when they enter shallower waters, the begins to “pile up” on itself, creating a massive wave that can destroy tall buildings and even travel inland for miles with great power.

Where Tsunamis Strike

Coastal areas in the Pacific Ocean basin are the most frequent targets of tsunamis, reflecting the greater vulnerability related to the famous “Ring of Fire” where tectonic plates meet to form a great circle on the sea floor. Japan has experienced many tsunamis. In fact, tsunami is a Japanese word. They’ve also hit Alaska and Hawaii in the Pacific Basin and Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands in the Atlantic basin.

The Indian Ocean area has experienced many tsunamis as well, the 2004 tsunami taking more than 250,000 lives and destroying billions of dollars in property.

Preparing for a Tsunami Emergency

If you are in the water and feel a strong earthquake, leave the water immediately, getting as far from the beach as you can. Try to go to high ground, or go inland as far as possible if the ground near you is flat.

If you can see the incoming wave, you can’t escape it. You simply don’t have time. The best thing to do in that case is to get as high as you can as quickly as you can.

If you sense a strong earthquake and you are not at the beach, tune your radio to a local station that broadcasts during emergencies. They will notify the public in case a tsunami watch or warning has been issued, and they will let you know where emergency relief centers are.

At this point, you should know where your family members are. Make sure everyone knows about the alert. You should have an agreed-upon meeting place in case you’re not all in the same place when the emergency is announced. Your meeting location should be as far from the shore as possible but not so far that people can’t get to it in time.

Be sure to prepare for family members with special needs. If your family includes elderly, ill, or small children, be prepared to have help for them or try to evacuate them early. You may also want to prepare to evacuate your pets as well, bringing emergency food and water for them.

You should have prepared emergency supplies in your home. Bring them with you when you evacuate. At least take fresh water, some food, and extra clothing. Most important, have a first aid kit in case of injuries.

If you have time, you might try to secure your house, but not at the risk of your own life. There is little you can do to protect your possessions from an incoming tsunami, so focus on saving lives first.

Tsunami Watch or Tsunami Warning

The two terms have important different meanings. When authorities issue a tsunami watch, it means that a tsunami is possible, but no one has reported seeing one or a sighting hasn’t been verified yet. A watch may include estimates for when and where a tsunami may strike.

When they issue a tsunami warning, it means that a tsunami has been reported and confirmed. By the time they issue the warning, the tsunami could be close. The warning will also let you know where to expect it to strike and when.

During the Wave

If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself at the mercy of an incoming tsunami, climb onto a rooftop or the highest point you can reach. The more stable the building, the safer the support will be. But get as high as you can no matter what. Hold on as tight as you can to any stable and heavy object available. If you must, climb a tree.

If you’ve already been overtaken by the water, grab something floating that’s large enough to support you and hold onto it until you can find stable ground or get help. Grab anything that seems firm and try to get out of the water. The current will be strong, and you could be hurt by debris in the water. If you can get any part of your body out of the water, do so.

You have to accept that tsunamis, like most natural disasters, are uncontrollable. You will have the earthquake warning to give you time to escape.

Keep your head. Remain calm. The better prepared you are, the better your chances of surviving.

Poets are the Bell Ringers of the Soul

POETS ARE THE BELL RINGERS of THE SOUL

Poets as a rule are high on adventure

Like wondering bards or prophets today.

Embracing hearts and minds with wisdom

Casting through verse their visions at play.

Poets have their dreams and their nightmares

Of love, life, death, faith and war.

They feel the pain and tragedy of others

Even those they’ve never met before.

They fan the flames of human compassion

With their stories of the failings of man.

Professing to follow a higher power

As they recruit whomever they can.

Poets are the bell ringers of the soul

As they depict the past, the present and beyond.

They sound their alarm of what lies ahead

As the missteps of man live on.

EDGAR ALLAN POE

One of America’s most famous writers

Was born in Boston, January of 1809.

Both his parents were failing actors

And his father was drunk most the time.

In 1810 Edgar’s dad disappeared

His mother died soon after.

A childless couple took him in

Raising him with love and laughter.

Edgar had a Negro nurse

Who brought him to her quarters.

There he listened to ghost stories

Far beyond earthly borders.

The strange tales he later wrote

May have come from her inspiration.

The words she used to describe death

Gave Poe his taste for sensation.

The Allans moved to England

Where Poe attended boarding schools.

There’s no doubt his time spent there

Sharpened his skills as tools.

Returning to Richman and back in school

He began to compose new verse.

Heavy debts forced him to leave college

As his life took a turn for the worse.

Poe caught a ride on a coal barge to Boston

Where he was unable to find employment.

A young printer agreed to publish his poems

Giving him hope and enjoyment.

Penniless, Poe enlisted in the army

And was accepted to West Point in 29.

Poe couldn’t stand not being a writer

Self-imposing his dismissal from The Line.

Afterward he became an editor and critic

And married his cousin who was thirteen.

Six years latter he discovered she was dying

Suffering once more the unforeseen.

He went through periods of insanity

Caused by grieving and functional fall.

He smoked opium and drank too much

Till at his doorstep death would call.

Edgar Allan Poe the master of verse

Still lives in our hearts today

Famous for The Raven and other great works

May his soul rest in peace we pray.

GOD’S POETS

The prize jewels of any nation

Are the philosophers of the heart.

How they think is universal

For it’s God who makes them so smart.

Most poets tell the truth of life

Though they may wrap it in beauty.

It’s their passion, not their purpose

To compose is but their duty.

Poets have no reason to lie

When the truth is always so clear.

All that others say and do

Is but food for the poet’s ear.

One merit of a poet’s work

Which most people can’t deny.

They say more and in fewer words

To illuminate you and I.

God sent his poets down to earth

With words of wisdom and of worth.

That they might touch the souls of men

And bring them back to Him again.

A GOOD POEM

A good poem paints a picture

For both your heart and brain.

It doesn’t need a second chance

To make its meaning plain.

A good poem is like the flower

The lily or the rose.

God plants it in a poet’s brain

And there its beauty grows.

A good poem like a cardinal

Is pregnant with song

You can’t help but hear its message

As it sings what’s right or wrong.

A good poem helps us remember

What the joys of life are for

It makes us want to love someone

Till death comes knocking at our door.

POETRY

God has always had his poets

Who He watches with love from space.

But Satan has his poets too

Who try to lead us from our grace.

King Solomon was a poet

Who spoke of love, life, death and war.

That lips were like threads of scarlet

And that breasts were roses and more.

The wild birds sing and flowers bloom

As clouds form figures in the sky.

But only humans will write poems

That shall last long after they die.

The eldest sister of all arts

Which some have called the devils wine.

Poetry is but pure passion

To stimulate the heart and mind.

POET’S WIFE

My reciting seemed to delight her

Though for me it was love at first sight.

When she found out I was a poet

She asked, what kind do you write?

Love poems, mostly, I told her

While we walked alone in the park

Love’s fever became even warmer

As two shadows embraced in the dark

I’ll always remember when first we met

I whispered a poem in her ear.

Ever since then how happy I’ve been

And other women I’ve no need to be near.

They say that poets are divine

Though my wife would argue, that’s not true!

For, whenever I lose my direction

It’s she who tells me what to do.

Where the city ends and the suburbs begin

We’ve built our home beneath the sky.

We’ll raise our babies with truth and love

Till one or both of us die.

A verse a day, I always say

Helps keep lawyers from my door

For when I’m paid for what I write

My wife loves me a little more.

ALL POETS SERVE A MASTER

Most poets have a bit of Solomon

Shakespeare and Poe within.

Constantly eager to share their visions

Of love, life, joy and sin.

Some guzzle whiskey

Some sip wine

Some prefer cola

And feel just fine.

Some smoke pot

Or suck cigarettes

Some abuse drugs

With lifetime regrets.

Some attend church

And sing of God

While others make fun

And call them odd.

All have a purpose

Which drives them to compose.

All serve a master

Who by free will, they chose.

DIVINE INTERVENTION

I never write a poem

That doesn’t write itself.

I catch a buzz and come alive

Like a puppet off it’s shelf.

Hearing many voices

Whose words are never mine.

My pen becomes a painter’s brush

Forming visions on a line.

I seem to be a better person

When it’s time to sit down and write.

A higher power guides my hand

Sharing wisdom by day and night.

People born to create

Have no choice but to perform.

It’s the rush of sharing their gift

That elevates them from the norm.

What would our world become

Without intervention from above?

Angry beings in a revolving cage

With no sense of passion or love.

THE POWER of POETRY

Poetry is the lighthouse of life

Guiding the lost from a stormy sea.

Without it’s presence darkness prevails

Keeping us from all we can be.

Poems are used to convey passion

By poets of both good and evil mood.

Some are hateful others loving

Sharing thoughts to be consumed as food.

Verse can lead us to glory or doom

As we partake with others within.

Depicting our past, present and future

With words of man’s grace or sin.

People write poetry because they have no choice

Answering to the call of their gift.

Where some tend to pull their readers down

Others compose to give them a lift.

Always remember the power of poetry

Is used by both heaven and hell.

It’s up to us to choose our pleasure

As poetry remains alive and well.

WHISPERS of THE HEART

Poetry consumed is where wisdom begins

As we heed to the whispers of the heart.

It’s easy to blame others for our dismay

When from ignorance we refuse to part.

Verse is a beacon of hope in the darkness

To help us navigate the pitfalls of life.

Far more tend to write it, than read it

That’s why there’s endless conflict and strife.

I write poems to help fuel the light

By sharing what God has given me.

With stories of love, life, war and more

Where heroes pray on bended knee.

MASTERS of VERSE

Poetry is one of man’s oldest arts

Practiced long before words of print.

Every race had its masters of verse

In caves, huts, cabins or tent.

Stories in verse were handed down

From one generation to another.

The first told of love, war and more

And how to survive each other.

As man became more civilized

He could not help but wonder within.

Verse then took on a deeper meaning

With stories of faith, superstition and sin.

The act of reciting became in demand

As verse began to advance

Every tribe, city, town and village

Had someone who gave words romance.

Today’s poets are on the World Wide Web

Though many seem spiritually ill.

Thank heaven for all who still have God’s gift

To compose, teach, comfort and fulfill.

MY FAVORITE POET

My favorite poet is God above

Who gives Earth its rhythm and rhyme.

Not pied pipers of misguided souls

Who promote distrust, hatred and crime.

Poetry is nature serenading in song

The peaceful roar of the oceans waves.

The wind through the trees and over the hills

And the flowers in the fields by the graves.

The sound of rain as it waters the thirsty

The songs of children at play in the park.

The far off rumble of trains or thunder

As they pass through the night in the dark.

The joy of our babies first words and steps

The passion of life with its heroes and clowns.

The on going struggle to survive our sins

As we proliferate in hamlets and towns.

My favorite poet is our Father of love

Who was first to know us before birth.

His poetry prolongs every thing we love

As His deliverance gives life its worth.

THE POWER of WORDS

Words are the most powerful tools used by man

As hearts and souls reach for one another.

Sharing feelings of fear, wisdom and joy

Or our love for a significant other.

Where would we be without words

Which inspire, unite and motivate.

Songs, poems, stories, blogs, books

Wars, religion, love, lust and hate.

Jesus preached words to the multitudes

And nourish their hunger within.

The stories we tell portray our spirit

As examples of weakness, triumph or sin.

When we fail to control the rage of our thoughts

What is easy to say becomes hard to forgive.

Words are visions which portray our intent

The better we communicate, the better we live.

A guide on buying Motorbåde or Speedbåde

A bad is meant to float on the waters of a lake or river. According to the navy, a, bad is a small water vessel that could be taken aboard on a large vessel like, ship. Other variations of bad are, Motorbåde, Speedbåde, etc. submarines can also be bade. Bayliner makes Motorbåde, Speedbåde that have multi uses. A bay liner Motorbåde,  Speedbåde can be as well used as commercial purposes and domestic or personal purposes.  A bad has a deck which is nothing but a flat, wooden surface that carries the hull of the bad. The deck is often used for other purposes. Like, sitting and enjoying the view of the sea, Partying etc. Ships usually have more than one deck in contrast to Motorbåde, Speedbåde.

Motorbåde is a vessel which has a built-in fire engine to propel it. Speedbåde is a vessel used in mainly adventure sports, like, water skiing. Motorbåde, Speedbåde differ according to size, type, purpose and configuration. Bayliner offers Motorbåde, Speedbådes with two types of engines namely: inboard and outboard. Bay liner inboard jets come with an automotive engine whereas the outboard is an extremely powerful engine.

If you are thinking to buy a small Motorbåde, it better be outboard. The reason being it’s lightweight. It’s quite economical also. You can also go for a used Motorbåde, of course not an old one. A Motorbåde or Speedbåde which has been used for only a few years can be the right option in terms of comfort, budget, space and configurations. Used or second-hand Motorbåde or Speedbåde are not just good for personal sailing but also for family or friends travelling.

So, before buying the Motorbåde, you need to do your homework.  You must take certain things into consideration such as, why are you buying a Motorbåde or Speedbåde? For which purpose or reason? Will you regularly use it? What kind of bade do you like and whether it’ll suit your budget how will make the payments? etc.

It is advised that you hire an inspector or an expert in this field to check your vessel before you buy it.  Checking every inch of every area of the Speedbåde is highly important because it will give you a clear idea about the parts. The radio is the only means to communicate to the land when you are on the waters.  Also, insist that you want to take it to test drive. Taking the Motorbåde or Speedbåde to a test drive will prove its strength, speed, and even the life of the Speedbåde. You have to be very careful when buying a Motorbåde or Speedbåde. If possible, take leave from your work and do the inspection of the Motorbåde, Speedbåde. Because the expenses that it can cause you for repairing could be worth a new bad.

Sailing on a Bayliner Motorbåde or Speedbåde could be a great leisure experience as well as a big responsibility. If you want to sail with your family or friends, you should give them detailed information about the Motorbåde and instructions on how to survive in case of a mishap.

Panic Attacks and Anxiety: Adios! to Derealization and Depersonalization

For those who’ve read my previous article, Panic Attacks and Anxiety: Derealization and Depersonalization - You Aren’t Going Crazy!, this is the perfect follow-up scoop. But if you’ve yet to read it, not to worry, there’s still much to be learned here.

Now, in review, derealization and depersonalization all too often accompany panic attacks and anxiety. In general terms, derealization is a frightening feeling of detachment from one’s external environment, and depersonalization is an equally as frightening sense of detachment from self. Both can be absolutely crippling and take you to the turnstiles of your perception of insanity.

I believe many researchers and theorists would concur that within the context of panic and anxiety, derealization and depersonalization may well be the mind’s self-protective reaction to the ultimate perceived state of overload. See, it goes like this – when the mind feels it’s mega-overwhelmed it flips the switch on a perceptual filter, believing even the slightest additional bit of in-coming stimuli may lead to various degrees of psychic meltdown. Within this theoretical framework, it’s all about the mind in a powerful state of defense, doing all it can to give itself a fighting chance to sort and process that with which it’s already wrestling. So it only makes sense that it tries to survive by inhibiting and prohibiting fresh sensory messages streaming in from one’s immediate internal and external experience. And the resultant mind states are dominated by derealization and depersonalization.

Now, as we approach delivering a knockout punch to derealization and depersonalization it’s important to always keep in mind that, as I said in the previous paragraph, both of these sensations are born of the mind’s effort to protect itself. And the very cool thing about this notion is it leads us to the unique understanding that the mind has – well – a personality of its own. Furthermore, this personality is all too often negatively impacted by the mind being overwhelmed and in great mental and emotional pain. To me, this brings to the fore a “personality of mind,” giving the hellish protection-generated sensations of derealization and depersonalization rather a bit of softness and gentleness, making them seem so much less treacherous. I mean, it’s like the mind is this living, feeling being that actively communicates with us, so often asking for help. And we, in turn, have the opportunity to provide compassion and relief.

Alrighty then – so let’s move on to what one can do to make these horrifying, but now familiar and much less terrifying, phenomena go bye-bye. First of all, if one is willing to accept derealization and depersonalization as mind-protecting phenomena, it only stands to reason that their appearance – more importantly, disappearance – will be greatly influenced by our ability to maintain balanced and tolerable loads in our mental/emotional wheel barrel. And this is accomplished by stress management, which is so often driven by how we monitor and adjust our processes of thought. Now, of course, in many cases high levels of stress, and resultant anxiety, can’t be avoided – that’s just life. But we still hold the ability to manage their intensity and fallout by keeping tabs on how we think and subsequently react. It’s a matter of maintaining enlightened perspective and calm as our reasoned powers of interpretation have time to take the stage after the panic alarms have sounded.

Allow me to reiterate, there’s no doubt that the best first strategy to keep derealization and depersonalization at bay is to do all we can to maintain management over our stress and anxiety levels. Whether it’s through relaxation, visualization, diet, guided imagery, exercise, job or school change, relationship change, lifestyle change, therapy – or my techniques of interpreaction, interpreversal, S.A.I.L., S.P.A., I.A.M. not F.E.A.R. – whatever – we must do what it takes to stay self-managed on a day-in and day-out basis. If we do this, not only will we be able to keep derealization and depersonalization at arm’s length, but should they strike and the alarms sound, we’ll be able to cruise our way past any exaggerated and inappropriate reactions. See – it’s our misinterpretations and overreactions that cause the problems, not derealization and depersonalization. How ‘bout that thought?

And as we’re approaching all of this, let’s not dismiss the concept of the mind having a personality and its expression of its need for “some love” through the frightening sensations of derealization and depersonalization. To me, as we accept this seemingly strange notion we apply a very soothing balm upon a potentially fevered mind. And this very much relates to the concept of mindfulness – a clear-minded, in-the-present-moment, self-observational technique that emphasizes viewing self as an outside observer – without criticism or judgment.

Okay – but let’s say in spite of our self-management efforts, derealization or depersonalization make a surprise visit. Ya’ ready? First and foremost – just stop whatever it is you’re doing. If you’re driving, pull over when you can. If you’re in a meeting, take a break. Heck – take a walk, if you’d like. Now, take a few full abdominal breaths, and as you take them immediately tell yourself that the one and only thing happening right now is your mind telling you it’s operating on overload and needs a little help. It’s talking with you, and that’s pretty cool. Nothing dangerous, without a reason, or permanent is happening to you. And since you know what’s going on, and why, take some time to communicate with your mind, letting it know you’re there for it and will do whatever it takes to provide aid and comfort. Visualize your mind as if you’re looking at it from outside of your physical self (a healthy “out-of-body” experience). And as you do, visualize your mind very nicely calming down. Simply open yourself to a spirit of insight and reason, as you employ relaxation techniques, guided imagery, visualization, the strategies I’ve mentioned before, or anything that’s worked for you in the past. And as you’re keeping yourself together, know that as soon as you get your sea-legs back, moving on with your day is the next order of business. It’s this thinking and believing that keeps the alarm from increasing in decibels, and keeps it from sounding in the future.

Yes – it’s this mindset, along with a few victories, that will enable you to function in the presence of derealization and depersonalization, allowing you to explore these uncomfortable states, accumulating insight along the way. And I’m betting you’ll find that this philosophy, as well as time-proven strategies and techniques, will keep these icky sensations at bay – period. It’s all about making peace with derealization and depersonalization - indeed, making the best of an initially perceived unpleasant situation. I mean, who knows what kind of inner secrets could be unveiled upon exploration of our altered states of perception and consciousness. And I’ll tell you this – establishing a level of insight and comfort with a nemesis is a great way to remove any potential threat. But, make sure you identify the true nemesis. In this case, it’s not derealization and depersonalization, rather our misinterpretation and overreaction to a foreign perceptual experience.

From tons of experience I can tell you that you must ride out episodes of derealization and depersonalization. As was said earlier, if and when they pop onto the scene, acknowledge they’re there and calmly tell yourself they’re not a permanent state of consciousness and will shortly pass – that is if you stay cool. Remind yourself that your mind is overloaded and it’s talking with you, asking for a little help. And do a friend a favor. Just use any intervention strategy and technique you’ve come across, including those presented in my book, and go on about your business and your day, as no one will have a clue as to what you’re going through. I’ll go you one better. I’m challenging you to welcome derealization and depersonalization as they arrive, and dive right in to some intrapersonal exploration in their presence. Wouldn’t that be an interesting twist? And how disarming would it be to the all out dread and fear these sensations traditionally generate.

Ah – the mysteries and miseries of derealization and depersonalization. Nothing with which we can’t peacefully coexist. Go get ‘em, tiger!

GREENHOUSE EFFECT AND ITS IMPLICATIONS

The Greenhouse Effect maybe the most important natural phenomena and may lead to major changes in our lifestyles within our lifetime. Today, whenever there is a natural disaster, the Greenhouse Effect seems to be on the agenda. It wasn’t so long ago that scientists were dismissive of the Greenhouse Effect and there are some still that do not believe it exists, just like there are still people out there that think the world is still flat and the Holocaust never existed. So what is the Greenhouse Effect?

What is the Greenhouse Effect?
The Greenhouse Effect is the culmination of various Greenhouse gases that have been trapped in the Earth’s stratosphere that is leading to the changing of the word’s climate.

• Under the influence of the sun’s rays, the earth’s temperature varies from 0 to about 50oC with an average through night and day, winter and summer, of about 15o C

• The warming is done by rays from the sun, including the very shortest, ultraviolet (UV) rays and the longest infra-red (IR) rays which give you that warm feeling when you walk out into the sunshine, much like an electric radiator warms you when you turn it on and get close to it.

• Some of the incoming rays are reflected back by the clouds in the sky and others by the sea and land, particularly deserts and snowfields.

• Not all those reflected rays go back into space, instead, the atmosphere re-radiates many of the IR rays towards the earth making it warmer still. It is this ability of the atmosphere to re-radiate warm rays which creates the Greenhouse Effect.

• Water vapour, carbon dioxide and certain other trace gases, absorb some of this radiation and prevent it being sent back into space. This “blanket effect” keeps the earth warm. History of the Greenhouse Effect It is not a new phenomena or concept. The term “Greenhouse gas” was first used in the Nineteen Century, by Irish born scientist John Tyndall in a paper he wrote in London’s Philosophical Magazine in 1863. It wasn’t until the 1960’s that Professor Bert Bolin of Stockholm University worked on the phenomenon. When he discussed it with fellow scientists they said “This is science fiction. We don’t believe it”. However by the mid 1970’s things were starting to change rapidly as scientists were starting to accept he was right.

How do we know the Greenhouse Effect exists? What is the evidence?

  1. 1. Scientists have analysed climates on planets like Venus and our moon. Venus which is covered by a very dense atmosphere of carbon dioxide. Its surface temperature is around 500 deg C. Whilst the moon which has no atmosphere has an average temperature of approximately -18 deg C. Our atmosphere keeps the surface of our earth, with an average of 15 deg C, some 33 deg C warmer and thus habitable.
  2. Evidence of ice cores Over the past 160,000 years carbon dioxide and methane levels trapped in ice cores have varied with global temperature. Scientists have been able to drill out ice cores from the Arctic and Antarctic and measure the levels of carbon dioxide and methane.
  3. Increase in surface temperature of approximately 0.5 deg C over 100 years as carbon dioxide levels increase Studies conducted by scientists have concluded that the earth’s temperature remained fairly constant until the start of the Industrial Revolution. Indeed it did not change much until the start of the twentieth century.
  • From 1880 to 1940 there was a warming of just a quarter of a degree. Most of it was lost between 1940 and 1970.
  • From 1950 to 1980 the average surface temperature was 15 deg C.
  • Between 1970 and 1980 the temperature average went up by three-tenths of a degree C.
  • 1987 and 1988 were the warmest years on record and since then temperatures have been increasing.  In 2009, Victoria Australia, experienced the hottest two days on record- 46 deg C, and one of the days (February 6th) leading to Australia’s worst natural disaster in which over 170 people died as a result of bushfires.

4. Sea levels are rising and small glaciers are melting.

  • Scientists using satellite and imaging technology have been able to monitor the melting of polar ice caps and glaciers.

What are the results of the Greenhouse Effect?

By using very sophisticated computer modeling, scientists have been able to predict what the world’s climate will be like when carbon dioxide levels have doubled.

  1. Increase in world’s temperature It is thought that there will be an increase in the average global temperature by between 1.5 and 4.5 deg C . • By year 2030 an increase of 2 deg C, by 2100 an increase of 6 deg C. The warming will be greater at higher latitudes and in winter. This will lead to the melting of polar ice caps and glaciers which is already evident, in places like Greenland, the Arctic and Antarctic.
  2. Changes in World’s climate The Greenhouse Effect will lead to world-wide changes in weather and climate. Some places may get more rain and storms while other places may get less. Not all changes will be bad. However, almost everywhere in the world will have changes in weather, which will have a big impact on our lives
  3. Rising Sea Level It is estimated that by the year 2030, the average sea level will increase by approximately 20 centimetres. This will be due mainly to the melting of the polar ice cap, but also warming of the atmosphere will heat the upper layers of the oceans, which will expand when heated. For low lying countries in the Pacific like Tuvalu and Kiribati, and in the Indian Ocean like Maldives and other countries like Holland may altogether disappear.
  4. Other impacts Other impacts could be the dieing out of some species of animals and plants, such as coastal marine environments and coral reefs. Some plants would not be able to survive temperature increases. It takes thousands of years for forests to move north or south to cooler climates. According to Joel B. Smith, co-author of an EPA report states that “such a warming over a century would require forests to move five times faster than the fastest rate recorded by paleontologists since the end of the last ice age”.

What are the primary Greenhouse gases?

They are a number of organic compounds which have more than two bonds (i.e 3 atoms). The seven major Greenhouse gases are:

  1. Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
  2. Ozone (O3)
  3. Methane (CH4)
  4. CFC’s (Freons F11 & F12)
  5. Water vapour (H2O)
  6. Nitrous Oxides (NOx)
  7. Ethane (CH3CH3)

Where do they come from?

  • Most of the Greenhouse gases have resulted from the burning of fossil fuels. Everything from power stations, motor vehicles, refrigerators, and factory emissions
  • However, CO2 also results from deforestation which releases carbon locked in the soil when trees are felled.
  • CH4 is released from agriculture such as sheep, cattle and manures and places such as tips, sewage treatment plants and mines.

Fossil Fuel contributions

Due to the nature of carbon to hydrogen ratio, different fossil fuels emit different levels of CO2.

Fossil Fuel Carbon to Hydrogen Ratio

Coal Approx.               1:1
Oil Approx.                  1:2
Natural Gas Approx.     1:4

• Hence combustion of coal produces twice the CO2 of natural gas

CO2 Levels in the atmosphere (parts per million)

Pre Industrial Revolution      270 ppm
1988                                  345 ppm
Today                               >355 ppm

  • By measuring bubbles of gases trapped in polar ice, scientists have shown that the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere prior to the Industrial Revolution was about 270 parts per million (ppm).
  • A special monitoring station established atop from the mountain Mauna Loa in the Hawaiian Islands showed that by 1957 CO2 levels in the atmosphere to 315 ppm, an increase of 17%.
  • By 1988, it had passed 345 ppm. A rise in 31 years of another 11%. An increased total of about 30% since the start of the Industrial Revolution.
  • Expert’s further forecast that CO2 will reach a level of 500-700 ppm by the year 2050, a doubling inside 200 years.

Percentage Contribution of Greenhouse gases to the Greenhouse Effect

CO2                            55%
CFC (F-11/F-12)*         17%
CH4                            15%
NO                              26%
Other                            7%

* Please note that CFCs have been phased out since the mid-nineties

To stablise atmospheric concentration of various gases at present day levels, the following reductions would be required instantly:

CO2                     60%
CH4                    15-20%
NO2                    70-80%
CFC (F-11)*           70-75%
CFC (F-12)*           75-85%

Remaining Scientific Uncertainty
No argument that increasing concentrations of heat trapping gases will lead to an increase in average temperatures world-wide.

However there is an argument about the extent in some cases of various positive and negative effects.

1. Uncertainty in effects of clouds Cumulus- negative cooling effect reflect incoming sunlight High Altitude clouds- positive effect by trapping infra-red radiation from earth

  • This uncertainty explains variation in temperatures from 1.5 deg C to 4.5 deg C.

2. Combustion of fossil fuels e.g. coal to sulphur dioxide (SO2) has cooling effect.

3. Variations in sun’s output are responsible for temperature increases.

4. Ocean levels will naturally increase due to thermal expansion of surface ocean water and melting of glaciers.

  • An increase in temperature will lead to increased precipitation, which will increase ice thickness at poles, thus reducing sea level.

5. Natural regional climatic changes, such as deforestation and bushfires, as opposed to global changes.

Policies for Greenhouse Emission Reduction Problems

  1. Different countries emit vastly different CO2 levels per capita
  2. Countries have very different per capita incomes
  3. Very difficult to work out the warming potential for each Greenhouse Gas in terms of CO2 equivalent.
  4. Emissions of gases from various countries are not known with certainty

Policies

1. Each country can reduce by the same percentage

  • Existing emission levels are uneven per capita are taken as standard
  • Poor countries want to increase fossil fuel usage

2. Each country gets the same emission quotas on a per capita basis. These countries sell quotas to rich countries.

3. Rich countries could reduce emissions by 20% with no reductions required by poor countries.

• Not all rich countries have high emissions of CO2, and not all poor countries are low emitters because of deforestation.

4. Assume Australia which is high income and high Greenhouse Gas emitter per capita is required to reduce emissions by 20%.

• How should it be reduced? By: a) each state? b) each industry section?

Some methods of reducing CO2 emissions that have negative impact on our lives;
• Better managing of natural resource;
• Reducing waste in manufacturing;
• Find alternative end uses for waste (recycle and reuse);
• Buying less junks and goods that we don’t need (In Australia, estimated to be worth AUD$10 billion per annum);
• Buying quality goods that don’t need replacing as often;
• Recycling more (e.g. it takes about 8 times more energy to convert bauxite to aluminium than it does to recycle it)
• Reduced use of motor vehicles;
• Increased use of public transport;
• More efficient lighting, heating and cooling;
• Better insulation;
• Less reliance on electricity and electrical goods and machines;
• More efficient electrical appliances;
• More efficient cars;
• Alternative technologies from natural sources such as wind, thermal and tidal;
• Converting landfills and sewage plants into methane plants;
• Bio-fuels such as bio-diesel, methanol and ethanol production from organic waste sources
• Reduce large scale deforestation and land clearing;
• Increase tree planting;
• More efficient agriculture including No till and Conservation agriculture methods;
• Organic farming.

How Did The Dinosaurs Become Extinct

The extinction of the dinosaurs occurred during the end of the Cretaceous Period, around 65 million years ago, and caused the loss of up to 70 percent of all life on the planet. Although this event was not the only mass extinction in Earth’s history or the most severe, dinosaur extinction has spawned a range of theories from the credible to the less than believable.

Ice Age

If an Ice Age occurred during the Cretaceous Period a considerable amount of the planet’s water and large areas of land would have been locked in ice. Since dinosaurs were thought to be cold blooded they would probably not have been able to cope with such extreme conditions and their numbers would have eventually dwindled.

Disease

Disease is another suggestion for the extinction of the dinosaurs. It is difficult to see however how one disease could be so prevalent as to wipe out large swathes of the animal population, travel vast distances and kill off both land and marine species as well as plant life.

Climate Change

If a gradual change in the earth’s climate occurred with a cooler, drier environment and an adapting plant life, possibly the dinosaurs would not have been able to adapt quickly enough to survive. The fossil records of dinosaur skulls show they could only have had small brains. This indicates dinosaurs relied on automatic body responses rather than the cognitive, decision making responses warm blooded animals are known to make. Therefore a changing environment could have been difficult for dinosaurs to adapt to and they may not have been able to compete effectively with warm blooded animals.

Supernova

A supernova is a star that explodes with enough energy to keep our sun burning for six billion years. If the Earth was hit by the resulting radiation from a nearby supernova it would have destroyed all dinosaur life. There is no evidence for a supernova causing the extinction of the dinosaurs, and it is difficult to see how anything would have outlived such an event.

The Volcano Theory

It is known that volcanic activity was widespread during the Cretaceous era, and is a credible reason why the dinosaurs became extinct. The Deccan Traps in western India and areas in the Pacific Basin are likely sites for increased volcanic activity at this time.

The consequences of large scale volcanic activity would have led to a nuclear type winter with ash and gasses added to the atmosphere, depleting sunlight and creating difficult conditions for dinosaur species. Hydrochloric acid in particular would have broken down the ozone layer allowing harmful ultraviolet rays to penetrate to the surface.

The high level of volcanic activity would also have emitted large volumes greenhouse gasses such as C02 and methane, increasing the Earth’s temperature and drastically changing the planet’s climate. The effects on the dinosaurs would have been catastrophic as they struggled to acclimatize to the changing conditions, and large scale extinction of dinosaur species would have been inevitable.

Cretaceous sediments support the theory of volcanic activity as they contain higher than normal concentrations of minerals and sodium, both associated with volcanoes. Cretaceous sediments can also contain volcanic rock.

The Asteroid Theory

In the late 1970′s Luis and Walter Alvarez and scientists from the University of California were studying rocks of the K-T boundary (or Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary) in Gubbio, Italy. Within the clay layer of the K-T boundary they discovered concentrations of iridium thirty times higher than normal. The two natural sources of this rare element are asteroids and lava from the Earth’s core, which led Luis and Walter Alvarez’s team to first suggest an asteroid collided with the Earth causing dinosaur extinction. The Alvarez team estimated the asteroid would need to be ten kilometers in diameter to contain enough iridium to cause the iridium concentrations in the clay layer.

Further evidence to support an asteroid impact has emerged. The K-T boundary has two layers. The upper layer is three millimeters thick and includes soot which is believed to have come from global fires caused by the impact.

The lower level is two millimeters thick and contains ejecta from the asteroid impact site. This includes quartz crystals known as shock crystals which have been physically altered by high temperatures and intense pressure. The layer also contains tektites and micro tektites, which are often made of fused glass.  Shocked crystals and tektites are both closely associated with asteroid impact sites.

In 1990 the scientist Alan Hildebrand, after studying data gathered by geophysicists searching for oil, noticed a ring structure called Chicxulub off the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Chicxulub is a crater 180 kilometers in diameter and dates from around 65 million years ago, the same time as the extinction of the dinosaurs. It was estimated that an object ten kilometers in diameter impacting the site would have caused the crater, which fits the Alvarez team’s calculations for the size of the asteroid to create the K-T boundary finds.

The Effects Of The Asteroid Impact On The Dinosaurs

It is estimated the speed of the asteroid would have been about 100,000 kilometers per hour and the initial impact would have destroyed everything within a 500 kilometer radius. The intense shock wave that followed would have caused large scale fires, whilst trillions of tons of debris, gas and water vapor would have been thrown into the atmosphere.

Earthquakes, tidal waves, volcanic eruptions as well as high winds would have followed. The soot and debris in the atmosphere would have blocked out the sun for months leading to fluctuating temperatures and severe disruption to photosynthesis. The global fires would have emitted large volumes of CO2, increasing global temperatures and causing a chain reaction that would create sulphur dioxide falling as acid rain.

Fires would have destroyed up to twenty five percent of all vegetation, and with photosynthesis unable to function effectively plant eating dinosaurs would have starved. This in turn would have led to large scale deaths of the carnivores bringing dinosaurs to extinction. Smaller animals such as scavengers and birds that could have traveled longer distances in search for food would have been more likely to have survived.

Effects On Marine Life

The levels of oxygen in the sea would have decreased as deep sea water was dragged to the surface by huge under water currents. Plankton would have died as a consequence leading to a collapse of the food chain and widespread death. Acid rain may also have increased the acidity of the sea, killing vulnerable species.

Problems With The Asteroid Theory

Whilst an asteroid impact has gained ground over most other theories, there still remain problems with the theory. Paleontologists have yet to find dinosaur fossils dating to the time of the impact, and some evidence suggests dinosaurs may have already been extinct before this event. In fact dinosaurs had been steadily declining for tens of thousands of years before the Chicxulub asteroid impacted.

There have been a number of mass extinction events in the Earth’s history and a number of large asteroid impacts. However, these impacts have never been the cause of mass extinctions. It is also known that some climate sensitive species such as frogs survived the cretaceous extinction event, bringing into question the true long term effects of the asteroid on the environment.

In spite of these problems with the asteroid theory it is still the strongest explanation for the extinction of the dinosaurs. Perhaps the answer lies not with one explanation for dinosaur extinction but a combination of factors such as the asteroid impacting at a time of increased volcanic activity. In the final analysis, perhaps the extinction of the dinosaurs was a case of an accumulation of badly timed events that very few species could cope with.

MOTHER TERESA –”There is a light in this world, a healing spirit more powerful than any darkness we may encounter. We sometime lose sight of this force when there is suffering, and too much pain. Then suddenly the spirit will emerge through the lives of ordinary people who hear a call and answer in extraordinary ways.”

MOTHER TERESA –”There is a net of love by which you can catch souls.”

MOTHER TERESA –”There is more hunger for love in this world than for bread.”

MOTHER TERESA –”There should be less talk. A preaching point is not a meeting point.”

MOTHER TERESA –”To keep a lamp burning we have to keep putting oil in it.”

MOTHER TERESA –”We can do no great things, only small things with great love.”

MOTHER TERESA –”We need lots of love to forgive, but we need much more humility to ask for forgiveness.”

MOTHER TERESA –”We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness.  God is the friend of silence. See how nature — trees, flowers; grass-grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.”

MOTHER TERESA –”We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence.”

MOTHER TERESA –”What I do you cannot do but what you do, I cannot do. The needs are great, and none of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful, Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.”

MOTHER TERESA –”You and I have been created for greater things. We have not been created to just pass through this life without aim. And that greater aim is to love and be loved.”

MOTHER TERESA-”Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person”

OSHO –”A creative person comes into the world, enhances the beauty of the World — a song here, a painting there. He makes the world dance better, enjoy better, love better, meditate better. When he leaves this world, he leaves a better world behind him.”

OSHO –”A man of consciousness responds, and his responses are spontaneous. He is mirror-like: he reflects whatsoever confronts him. And out of this spontaneity, out of this consciousness, a new kind of action is born. That action never creates any bondage, any karma. That action frees you.”

OSHO –”A religious person has nothing to do with organised religion, but he has something to do with the inner poetry, the poetry of life. He has something to do with the inner dance; he has a dancing energy He is in deep romance with life, he is in romantic love with life. He is immensely grateful for each moment of joy that God goes on giving. And we are not even worthy. We don’t deserve it. We have not earned it. It is a gift.”

OSHO –”Be creative. Don’t be worried about what you are doing — one has to do many things —but do everything creatively, with devotion. Then your work becomes worship. If the atom can have so much energy, what to say about man? What to say about this small flame of consciousness in man? If some day this small flame bursts forth, it is bound to become an infinite source of energy and light. That’s how it I has happened to a Buddha, or to a Jesus.”

OSHO –”Bloom in love, release the fragrance of love — that is prayer.”

OSHO –”Certainly it will be uncomfortable, inconvenient, but nothing valuable is ever gained without inconvenience.”

OSHO –”Death is a door to God those who know how to die know how to enter in to God. Clingers clinging to life never know what God is.”

OSHO –”Enlightenment is simply recognizing your being, recognizing the eternity of your being, recognizing that there has been no death before, nor is there any death to come — that death is a fiction. Seeing your being in its utter nakedness, in its absolute beauty, its grandeur, its silence, its blissfulness, its ecstasy — all that is involved in the word ‘enlightenment’.”

OSHO –”Existence wants your life to become a festival … because when you are unhappy, you also throw unhappiness all around.”

OSHO –”I am saying something about the ineffable. I am saying something about the ultimate mystery. You can understand it, yet you can never understand it totally It is elusive, it escapes. It is within reach, but it is not within grasp; You are always coming closer and closer to it, but you never arrive. And the day you arrive, then you are no more there; the distinction between the seeker and the sought disappears. Then you are it. That art thou — then you are it!”

OSHO –”I condemn the politicians in the same way I condemn organized religions. They are nothing but politics.”

OSHO –”I have seen lovers promising each other that they will love each other forever and forever. And not knowing anything about the next moment! If they are a little alert, they will say: “It feels in this moment, it is a truth of this moment…” That is why lovers always prove to be deceivers to each other. In the end they think they have been cheated. They have both promised things which they cannot deliver.”

OSHO –”I say unto you that suffering is not holding you, you are holding suffering… And when you become good at the art of letting sufferings go, then you’ll come to realize what you were dragging around with you. And for that, no one else other than you was responsible… The truth is that existence wants your life to become a festival…because when you are unhappy, you also throw unhappiness all around.”

OSHO –”I speak against politics because I don’t want you to remain ignorant of who the real criminals are in this world. You have to be aware of who the criminals are. The problem is that those criminals are thought to be great leaders, saints, mahatmas and they are tremendously respected around the world; you would never think that they could be criminals…”

OSHO –”I would like you to relate with people, to love, to move in millions of relationships — because they enrich — and yet remain capable of closing your doors and sometimes having a holiday from all relationships… so that you can relate with your own being also.”

OSHO –”If someone goes to dance on the grounds where Krishna once danced with his gopis he can hear the echoes of the maha-raas even today If someone can play a flute near the hills that in the past echoed with the music of Krishna’s flute, he can hear those hills still echoing it, everlastingly The raas symbolises the overflowing, outpouring of the primeval energy as it is divided between man and woman. And if we accept this definition, the Raas is as relevant today as it was in the times of Krishna. Then it is everlastingly relevant.”

OSHO –”In the inner world no effort is needed. Once you start slipping inwards, you suddenly see everything is happening as it should. Life is perfect. There is no way to improve upon it Then celebration starts.”

OSHO –”Just become a child, and your eyes will be able to see the point. And from that moment, growth goes on happening.”

OSHO –”Life becomes richer a love grows. And this sensitivity will create new friendships for you — friendships with trees, birds, animals, mountains, rivers, oceans, with stars.”

OSHO –”Life is not esoteric at all. It is written on each leaf of each tree, on each pebble on the seashore it is contained in each ray of the sun — whatever you come across is life in all its beauty.”

OSHO –”Love is not a talent, but everybody’s potential.”

OSHO –”Meditation is just courage to be silent and alone. Slowly, slowly, you start feeling a new quality to yourself, a new aliveness, a new beauty, a new intelligence which is not borrowed from anybody, which is growing, withinyou. It has roots in our existence.”

OSHO –”Meditation’s ultimate conclusion is, live the omen to its totality, intensively, joyously, because there is nothing to be feared —because even death is a fiction. Don’t separate yourself from existence, become part of it and existence will take care of you. It is already taking care of you.”

OSHO –”Once you know yourself, there is no death. Death was only in your ignorance. In your meditative consciousness, death disappears just as darkness disappears when there is light brought in.”

OSHO –”Remember one thin Meditation means awareness, Whatsoever you do with awareness is meditation. Action is not the question, but the quality that you bring to your action. Walking can be a meditation if you walk alertly. Sitting can be a meditation if you sit alertly. Listening to the birds can be a meditation if you listen with awareness. Just listening to the inner noise of you mind can be a meditation if you remain alert and watchful.”

OSHO –”Satsang is to be in the presence of a Master, in a loving communion. It is a very special word —it cannot be translated into any western language, because nothing like this has ever happened there; it is uniquely eastern. In fact, the relationship between a disciple and a Master is an eastern phenomenon, a contribution of the East to the world of consciousness. Between a Master and a disciple the question is not of knowledge but of being. Not that the Master knows more than the disciple —  sometimes the disciple may know more. The Master is more than the disciple, not that he knows more. He has more being, he has more soul. It is not a question of his memory; it is a question of his existence; he has a totally different kind of existence — integrated, centred, rooted.”

OSHO–”Tensions are our guests; we have invited them. Relaxation is our nature; we don’t have to invite it. You don’t have to relax; you have just to stop inviting tensions, and relaxation will start on its own accord. In your very being, in every fiber, in every cell of your being there will be relaxation. This relaxation is the beginning of meditation.”

OSHO –”The one who cares about happiness — about his own happiness — becomes careful about everybody else’s happiness, because happiness happens only in a happy climate.”

OSHO –”The truth is that existence wants your life to become a festival… because when you are unhappy, you also throw unhappiness all around.”

OSHO –”‘The word ‘guru’ is untranslatable,, Neithe:, does the word ‘teacher nor the word ‘Master’ has that beauty. In fact the phenomenon of the guru is so deeply Indian that no other language of any country is capable of translating it. It is something intrinsically Eastern. The word ‘guru’ is made of two words, ‘gu’ and ‘ru’.'Gu’ means darkness, ‘ru’ means one who dispels it. Guru literally means/the light’.”

OSHO –”There is no need for problems to be. We create problems with one hand and we try to solve the problems with the other hand — and both are our hands!”

OSHO –”Think of a life without death, and it will be unendurable pain, an unendurable existence. It will be impossible to live without death. Death defines life, gives it a kind of intensity; because life is fleeting, each moment becomes precious. If life is eternal, then who cares? One can wait for tomorrow forever —then who will live now and here? Because tomorrow there is death, it forces you to live now and here. You have to plunge into the present moment; you have to go to its ultimate depth, because who knows, the next moment may come, may not come.”

OSHO –”What do you mean when you say: I am a Christian, or I am a Hindu, or I am a Buddhist? It means that I believe Gautama Buddha is going to be my redeemer, that I am simply waiting for Jesus Christ to come and redeem me. You have dropped every effort to transform yourself and that is the only way there is for any kind of transformation.”

OSHO –”Your body is already dead. What gives you the impression that it is alive is your life force, your being, which radiates through the .body which fills the body with aliveness. All that you have seen when people die is .that something has disappeared. You don’t know where it has gone whether it has gone anywhere, or simply ceased to be. So from the outside the fiction of death has been created.”

OSHO-”All moments are beautiful, only you have to be receptive and surrendering. All moments are blessings, only you have to be capable of seeing. All moments are benedictions. If you accept with deep gratitude, nothing ever goes wrong.”

OSHO-”All the Buddhas of all the ages have been telling you a very simple fact: Be — don’t try to become. Within these two words, be and becoming, your whole life is contained. Being is enlightenment, becoming is ignorance.”

OSHO-”Be creative. Don’t be worried about what you are doing — one has to do many things — but do everything creatively, with devotion. Then your work becomes worship.”

OSHO-”Ecstasy is our very nature; to be ecstatic is natural, spontaneous. It needs no effort to be ecstatic, it needs great effort to be miserable. That’s why you look so tired, because misery is really hard work; to maintain it is really difficult, because you are doing something against nature.”

OSHO-”Experience life in all possible ways — good-bad, bitter-sweet, dark-light, summer- winter. Experience all the dualities. Don’t be afraid of experience… the more experience you have, the more mature you become.”

OSHO-”I am releasing a sense of humour in you, a deep laughter in you. Laughter is prayer, it is more spiritual than I chanting mantras, it is far more cosmic than going to a place of worship.”

OSHO-”if the atom can have so much energy, what to say about man? What to say about this small flame of consciousness in man If some day this small flame bursts forth, it is bound to become an infinite source of energy and light. That’s how it has happened to a Buddha, or to a Jesus.”

OSHO-”In love you disappear, your mind disappears. In love you come to an utter relaxation. That’s my teaching to you, I teach love. And there is nothing higher than love.”

OSHO-”In the inner world no effort is needed. Once you start slipping inwards, you suddenly see everything is happening as it should. Life is perfect. There is no way to improve upon it. Then celebration starts.”

OSHO-”Laughter has tremendous beauty, a lightness. It will bring lightness to you, and it will give you wings to fly. A good laugh is tremendously meditative.”

OSHO-”Laughter is far more sacred than prayer, because prayer can be done by anyone whereas to laugh, one needs to have presence of mind; a quickness of seeing into things.”

OSHO-”Laughter is not irreligious. Laughter is one of the most evolved phenomena in human life. No other animal can laugh, it is only man who can laugh.”

OSHO-”Let your laughter be your only prayer Let your joy be your only offering. Love life! Love small things! Don’t miss a single moment.”

OSHO-”Life is not esoteric at all. It is written on each leaf of each tree, on each pebble on the seashore; it is contained in each ray  of the sun—whatever you come across is life in all its beauty.”

OSHO-”Love makes you a unity — and not a union, remember, but a unity. Because in a union those who join together remain separate. In a unity they dissolve, they become one, they melt into each other. And that moment I call the moment of truth, when love has given you unity First, love gives you unity in your innermost core. Then you are no more a body, no more a mind, no more a soul. You are simply one —unnamed, undefined, unclassified. No more determinate, definable, no more comprehensible. A mystery, a joy, a surprise, a jubilation, a great celebration.”

OSHO-”My whole teaching consists of two words, “meditation” and “love”. Meditate so that you can feel immense silence, and love so that your life can become a song, a dance, a celebration.”

OSHO-”Never go towards God seriously; go laughing and dancing, and your prayer will be heard… and your thank-you will reach the address.”

OSHO-”No dead principles can help, but only living consciousness. Be absolutely unprincipled and just follow life.”

OSHO-”Remain in wonder if you want the mysteries to open up for you. Mysteries never open up for those who go on questioning. Questioners sooner or later end up in a library. Questioners sooner or later end up with scriptures, because scriptures are full of answers. And answers are dangerous, they kill your wonder.”

OSHO-”The deeper your laughter, the deeper will become your prayer. If you can dance, you have entered the shrine, you have come close to God.”

OSHO-”The whole play of existence is so beautiful that laughter can be the only response to it.”

OSHO-”What should I give to you today? Because this is my birthday, I was incarnated into this body on this day This is the day I saw for the first time the green of the trees and the blue of the skies. This was the day I for the first time opened my eyes and saw God all around. Of course the word ‘God’ didn’t exist at that moment, but what I saw was God. I was thinking, what should I give to you today? Then I remembered a saying of Buddha: Sabba Danam Dhamma Danana Jnati —the gift of truth excels all other gifts. And my truth is love.”

OSHO-”You can go on changing the outer for lives and you will never be satisfied; something or other will remain to be changed. Unless the inner changes, the outer can never be perfect.”

POPE –”We think our fathers fools, so wise we grow; our wiser sons, no doubt, will think us so.”

POPE- “Wit that can creep and pride that licks the dust.”

POPE GREGORY –”If the work of God could be comprehended by reason, it would be no longer wonderful.”

POPE JHON PAUL –”Believe! Do not be afraid to believe.”

POPE JHON PAUL –”The church strives to be the interpreter of the thirst modern men and women have for dignity.”

POPE JHON PAUL II –”Man always travels along precipices. His trust obligation is to keep his balance.”

POPE JOHN PAUL II –”If, with regard to natural resources, especially under the pressure of industrialization, an irresponsible culture of “dominion” has been reinforced with devastating ecological consequences, this certainly does not correspond to God’s plan. “Fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over! the birds of the air”. These famous words of Genesis entrust the earth to man’s use, not abuse.”

POPE JOHN PAUL II –”Our future on this planet, exposed as it is to nuclear annihilation, depends on one single factor: Humanity must make a moral about-face.”

POPE JOHN PAUL II –”Science can purify religion from error and superstition; religion can purify science from idolatry and false absolutes. Each can draw the other into a wider world, a world in which both can flourish… We need each other to be what we must be, what we are called to be.”

POPE JOHN PAUL II –”Social justice cannot be attained by violence. Violence kills what it intends to create.”

POPE JOHN PAUL II –”Story of Survival: From now on it is only through a conscious choice and through a deliberate policy that humanity can survive.”

POPE JOHN XXIII –”Anybody can be Pope; the proof of this is that I have become one.”

POPE JOHN XXIII –”It is easier for a father to have children than for children to have a real father.”

POPE PAUL VI –”We see in these swift and skilful travellers a symbol of our life, which seeks to be a pilgrimage and a passage on this earth for the way of heaven.”

Very few fisherman take advantage of the fantastic opportunities you have when you go night fishing for any species such as crappie, walleye, catfish or bass probably because they just don’t know how. You will be amazed at the variety of different fish you will catch at night even if you are targeting a specific species of fish such as walleye. Today I want to give you some simple night fishing tips that will help you to become a better night fisherman.

#1 Underwater fishing lights.

I always put this item at the top of my night fishing equipment list and for good reason. The best florescent submersible’s use 25-40watts of power , and they emit 1000 to 3000 lumens per tube.It is amazing how much plankton these lights will attract. These little organisms are the primary food source of most of the small bait fish that game such as bass love to attack. Bait fish are the main ingredient that is needed to have a successful night fishing trip. These lights absolutely are useful in attracting game fish such as walleye to your night fishing location. When you have a swarm or ball of bait fish surrounding your underwater fishing light anything can happen. All you need to do is cast your rigs out close to the edge of your light source and you are ready for an exciting night. I love going night fishing because of the variety of game fish you can catch at night. You can catch walleye, catfish, crappie and bass ! It doesn’t matter they are all their for an easy meal. And it is my opinion I could of caught very few of these fish without a good underwater fishing light source.

#2 Surface night fishing lights.

Surface lighting is very important not only for fishing but for your safety. I want to identify two primary areas that surface lighting will help you. The number one reason is for your safety. At a very minimum you need to at least have your night running lights on when you are night fishing. You need to identify yourself to other night fisherman and recreational boaters. There have been a a lot of watercraft accidents because did not do this very simple step of identification. The second reason is very important too. The light source will pro-ject across the surface and attract insects, yes I said attract insects! Insects attract bait fish and bait fish attract mare game fish! Just make sure you hang these lights outside of your boat so you keep most of the insects away from you. If you use a Coleman type lantern for night fishing make sure you shield the side facing into the boat so the light reflect back out and across the water. This limit the amount of insects that will attack you in the boat.

#3 Pre-Planning is important! Before you decide to go night fishing it is very important to do some preplanning. Make a check list of all the items that will be essential after nightfall. Also get out and scout the areas you want to night fish for the evening. If you have a GPS to mark them that would be great. If you do not have a GPS identify land marks that you will be able to identify after night fall.

I hope the information I have provided about underwater fishing lights will help you on your next fishing trip! God bless and a good day to you.

Night Fishing Lights and Underwater Fishing Lights – Amazing Tips to Catch Crappie!

Underwater fishing lights are a very important part of my twilight fishing trips and very useful to catch a variety of freshwater and saltwater game fish, such as catfish, walleye, crappie, and bass red snapper, to name a few. I will explain why in my article today. Submerged lighting for night fishing can be used to catch both saltwater and freshwater species of fish that are predominately night feeders. These lights can give you a significant edge so think seriously about learning how to use them on your next fishing trip. In the following paragraphs I want to identify the key reasons underwater lighting used when fishing at night is so powerful.

It amazes me that very few night fishermen use this secret of life to their advantage when they are fishing at night. This simple little process of life is key to the entire earth’s food chain. Once you learn how to identify the process you can exploit it and make it work to your advantage.

This process is really no secret at all, but very few fisherman use it to their advantage. It’s a shame because it can make your night fishing trips sensational if you learn how to use it to your advantage. The process has two parts to it and they are what is called “Phytoplankton” and “Zooplankton”. And I will tell you later in the article how to exploit them but first let me explain what they are.

What Is Phytoplankton – And Why It Is Essential to finding night fishing “honey holes”?

Phytoplankton is at the very bottom of the food chain. They are what is called the “plant form of plankton. They are made up tiny particles called “diatoms” of which there is golden algae, and green algae, and also what is called “cyanobacteria”. And you all are probably thinking what does this have to do with night fishing! All you really need to remember here is that without Phytoplankton there would be no food chain. Phytoplankton is at the very bottom of the food chain and is the process that kick starts the entire food chain process.

The “Zooplankton Animal” – What it is and why its essential when you set up your night fishing lights.

To make it simple, Zooplankton is the “animal form” of Plankton. The Zooplankton primarily feeds on the Phytoplankton and wherever there is Phytoplankton present you will find Zooplankton. These two microorganisms start the whole food chain process rolling. Both are present in all freshwater and saltwater bodies of water at many different depths. The key point to remember here is all types of bait fish need Zooplankton as a food source to survive. And of course all game fish such as bass, crappie, walleye, catfish, and red snapper to name a few need bait fish to survive.

Zooplankton – Where to find it and what does it look like?

Actually Zooplankton are very easy to identify when you know what to look for. You need to be able to look for too basic things before you set up your night fishing equipment and submerged lighting sources. They are “Chlorophyll” and Zooplankton when you find one the other will be present.

Make sure you start your night fishing trip for night fall and look for “stained water” areas they will look dark green in color. This is where the huge Chlorophyll patches will be located. Amazingly if you use underwater fishing lights you can actually attract Chlorophyll patches even if you don’t start fishing near one. Drop your anchors and set up your night fishing equipment here. Make sure you drop your underwater fishing light source as soon as possible after you get set up.

Well folks that concludes my article on night fishing, night fishing equipment, underwater fishing light, submerged fishing lights, fishing at night, and Zooplankton. Stay tuned for more articles on the subject of night fishing. May your next fishing trip be a success!

Common Types of Fishing Indicators

There are various ways that anglers go about registering when the fish has taken their bait. Some traditional indicators have been around for centuries; others, such as night floats and electronic alarms, are modern.

Floats

The most traditional bite indicators are floats, which exist in a myriad of different forms, in order to cope with various conditions and angling styles. As with all tackle, good products are available from several manufacturers.

Float design varies to cope with the fishing style involved, and generally those floats used for river work have their body bulk higher on the stem for stability of riding a current, while Stillwater floats carry their bulk much lower to minimize the effects of drift.

Bobbins

The earliest form of legering incorporated a ball of dough hung on the line between the reel and first rod ring to form an angle. A bite was signaled by the line tightening and the dough bobbin rising. This term now includes any free-hanging bite indicator, which may be the top of a washing-up liquid bottle or sophisticated commercially made bobbins incorporating beta lights for night fishing.

Most anglers equip their bobbins with a retaining cord, tied to the rod rest, to prevent them being lost on a hard strike. The cord can be loaded with lead wire to make the bobbin heavier and counteract drift.

Butt Indicators

Butt indicators are pivoted arms set at the front rod rest, with the head of the indicator placed on the line a short distance in front of the reel. There are several types available.

The arm developed by Bob Henderson features a cleverly designed angled slot in the head, so that the indicator automatically falls away from the line when it reaches the horizontal. Many butt indicators have a problem of resistance to the line when they are pulled out of their retaining device. With the Henderson, the line falls away sweetly, totally resistance free.

For deadbait fishing for predators, when the reel is often fished free spool, butt indicators can be mounted on the rear rod rest, so that they rise and then pull off the line when a run starts. Recommended for fishing this style, are the droparm indicators or, for longer sessions, the E.T Backbiter, which works on the same principle but incorporates the facility for including beta lights and provides an adjustable audible alarm.

Swingtips

As the name implies, a swingtip is a stiff extension to the rod tip, hinged to a threaded base to fit a matching threaded tip ring on the rod. Once the bait has been cast out, the line is tightened until there is the required angle in the swingtip. A bite is signalled by the tip either rising or falling. Swingtips can be fitted with lead wire to counteract drift, and beta lights for night work. They are mainly used in stillwaters or very sluggish sections of rivers.

Quivertips

Separate quivertips are either supplied with rods, spigotted or overfitted to the rod top after removing the tip ring, or supplied with threaded adapters to fit threaded tip rings. Unlike a swingtip, the thread is not hinged to the body, which is tapered to accentuate a bite from a fish. They are supplied in a range of test curves, from 3 oz (85 gm) for strong fish such as barbel to only 1 oz (28 gm) or less to indicate the bite from the most delicately feeding fish.

Electronic Alarms

Most anglers will be equipped with electronic alarms of one kind or another, usually in combination with bobbins or butt indicators, in order to give both visual and audible bite warning. The line is placed in the slot in the alarm head and a bite is then indicated with a bleep and flashing LED display when the line moves. There are many very reliable alarms available on the market.
